Buddy IBomma Review
In Buddy, Allu Sirish plays a determined man on a mission to save a girl’s life, with his unique sidekick, a teddy bear named Buddy. Their interactions bring some light-hearted moments, especially for younger audiences. Gayatri Bharadwaj adds charm in her brief role, and fans will enjoy the nods to popular culture. However, the film struggles with a predictable plot that unfolds as expected from the start, lacking suspense and engaging execution. Many scenes lack logic and unintentionally become laughable, particularly towards the climax. The supporting characters, including actors like Ali and Mukesh Rishi, are underutilized, resulting in weak performances.
The direction by San Anton misses the mark, with a routine story and uninspired screenplay. Production values are mediocre, and some CGI effects are not convincing. The editing could have been sharper, and while the cinematography by Krishnan Vasant is decent, it isn’t standout. The music by Hiphop Tamizha is average, failing to leave a lasting impression. Overall, Buddy provides a familiar storyline with a few entertaining moments, primarily appealing to children, while others may find better entertainment elsewhere.
