Kingston Ibomma Review
Performances
- G. V. Prakash Kumar gives a spirited performance, embodying Kingston’s fearless and rebellious nature. His dialogue delivery, body language, and action sequences stand out, though the weak screenplay doesn’t fully utilize his skills.
- Divyabharathi does well in her limited role, but her character lacks depth and development.
- Sabumon Abdusamad plays a menacing villain, but his characterization feels underdeveloped.
- Chetan Kadambi, as Kingston’s grandfather, adds an emotional element, but his connection to the curse isn’t explored deeply enough.
Technical Aspects
- Direction & Writing: Kamal Prakash presents an intriguing concept but struggles with execution. The screenplay is cluttered, making the storyline confusing at times.
- Screenplay: The first half builds suspense well, but the second half is slow and predictable, lacking the gripping twists needed for a fantasy thriller.
- Music & BGM: G. V. Prakash Kumar’s score is atmospheric, but some scenes feel over-reliant on background music instead of strong storytelling.
- Cinematography: Gokul Benoy’s visuals are stunning, capturing the coastal town’s eerie ambiance beautifully.
- VFX & CGI: The supernatural elements and action sequences are well-executed, adding visual appeal.
- Editing: San Lokesh’s editing could have been sharper; several dragging scenes weaken the film’s pacing.
